WELCOME TO CENTRAL COLORADO SPRINGS!

General William Jackson Palmer is the city Father. His statue is inconviently located at the very busy intersection of Boulder and Nevada Avenues. We love him there, though. All the students from Palmer High School pass under his watchful gaze as they head off for lunch in nearby Acacia Park. There they can watch the Uncle Wilbert fountain or browse the specialty shops that are in abundance downtown.

A city of commerce, Colorado Springs still maintains a small town atmosphere, and the scenary is breathtaking wherever you look. The Fine Arts Center and the Pikes Peak Center are joined by numerous smaller venues to whet the appetite for culture. The true appetite can always be satiated at any of many international or downhome eateries, all within a short walking distance for the hearty, from theatre, symphony, and cinema.

We also educate ourselves superbly. The University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, The United States Air Force Academy, The Colorado College, Pikes Peak Community College, and many technical schools balance the picture.

With all the distractions of beautiful landscape, wonderful opportunities for culture and educational enrichment, we still find time to keep healthy. As a matter of fact, this is where our future olympians train.

Colorado Springs is a proud city nestled against the mountains. Our culture is based on health, nature's splendor, our military presence, our high tech savy, our family values, and our diversity.
