WELCOME TO NORTHGATE - Gleneagle, Northgate, Sun Hills, Chaparral Hills, Pleasant View Estates, Pleasant View, Middle Creek Manor, Trailridge
Northgate is a community of homes located directly across from the United States Air Force Academy. The USAFA maintains hundreds of pristine acres of forests and meadows bordering the foothills and Bureau of Land Management and National Forest Land. As a result, every neighborhood has magnificent views of the front range from Monument Hill to Cheyenne Mountain. Of course, that includes Pikes Peak. Gleneagle Golf Course is no exception. The community of Gleneagle is wrapped around its golf course and sports homes of quality and variety. Long considered a bedroom community, this area has added a small shopette and is only a short driving distance to the town of Monument or Colorado Springs where all the amenities abide.

Recreation is hard to avoid in Northgate. Fox Run Regional Park is one of the best kept secrets of the area. Once a location for a fox farm in the 30's, it was donated by the Baptist Assembly to the Colorado Springs Park System. Miles of trails through Ponderosa Pines and around small lakes, as well as sporting fields and picnic facilities make this a very popular escape for the community. Cross country skiing in the winter, walking the dog in the summer, and many community sponsored events in the public facilities add quality to the Northgate lifestyle.

"Our Core Values, Integrity first, Service before self and Excellence in all we do, set the common standard for conduct across the Air Force. These values inspire the trust which provides the unbreakable bond that unifies the force. We must practice them ourselves and expect no less from those with whom we serve." General Michael E. Ryan, Chief of Staff, United States Air Force
President Dwight D. Eisenhower signed the bill authorizing the establishment of the Academy, April 1, 1954. The first class entered in July, 1955 at temporary facilities at Lowry Air Force Base, Denver. Construction of the present site also began that year. The Cadet Wing moved into its permanent home in August, 1958. The first class of 207 graduated in June, 1959. President Current legislation limits cadet wing strength to 4,000. The first class with women entered in June, 1976. To date, more than 34,065 cadets have graduated in 43 classes.

The WESTERN MUSEUM OF MINING AND INDUSTRY is located on Northgate Road and is a reminder of our colorful Colorado past. Some of that past can be remembered not only in the museum, but also from the country atmosphere of the 5 acre communities of Sun Hills, Pleasant View Estates, and Chaparral Hills. There horses are part of the lifestyle. The diversity of the community can be seen in the newer homes being offered in the neighborhoods like Trail Ridge where builders provide many models, to the older homes in the 1/2 acre wooded lots of Pleasant View. Northgate is fortunate to have a nationally recognized school system, District 20, that benefits from its association with the United States Air Force Academy.
