WELCOME TO FALCON

Falcon is an area with one foot firmly planted on Safeway and the other on Farmer Jim's Feed. It is rural living with residential communities sprinkled among ranches and farms. Its sparsely treed rolling hills provide enchanting full front range views with the ever

dominating 14,000 foot Pikes Peak as the highlight. There is very little limitation on what kind of home or amount of land is available in the Falcon area. It is not uncommon to find cows, horses, ostrich, and, of course, falcons. Falcon School District #49 began as

a small rural district on these eastern plains in the late 1800's. It currently is one of the most rapidly growing districts in the state, covering approximately 133 square miles. New subdivisions featuring larger acreage lots offer an escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. The stars are so much

clearer on the plains because there are very few man made lights on a country evening. Falcon-Shreiver Air Base as well as the local Meadowlake Airport benefit from the space and visibility provided by the topography of the Falcon area. The weather is a little more severe than in Colorado Springs which lies closer in to the protective mountains, and the altitude is not quite 7000 feet as compared to the less than mile high Colorado Springs.
